Given our current situation where the present administration is breathing out threats against law abiding, freedom loving folks. Folks who don’t happen to share their political views and going so far as to accuse them of being terrorist just because they voted for the other side in the last election or question the legitimacy of the same… have we arrived at the point where liberty, freedom and constitutional principles are hanging in the balance?
And have we reached the point that Ezra Taft Benson described when he said:
“But on the other hand, if the gentiles on this land reject the word of God and conspire to overthrow liberty and the Constitution, then their doom is fixed, and they “. . . shall be cut off from among my people who are of the covenant”. (1 Nephi 14:6; 3 Nephi 21:11, 14, 21; D&C 84:114-115, 117)
Personally, I think it’s pretty much indisputable that the wicked gentiles have met the conditions outlined above and if that be the case… their doom is about to unfold… they are about to be “cut off from among my people who are of the covenant”. Elder Benson went on to say:
“The great destructive force which was to be turned loose on the earth and which the prophets for centuries have been calling the “abomination of desolation” is vividly described by those who saw it in vision. Ours is the first generation to realize how literally these prophecies can be fulfilled now that God, through science, has unlocked the secret to thermonuclear reaction.” (Oct. general conference, 1961)
Now, unless we are willing to throw Elder Benson and the scriptural references he sites under the bus, we must conclude that we are standing at a major crossroad! And we need to accept and prepare for what is just ahead, after all, “time is running out”, right? We go to JS Matthew and read:
32 And again shall the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, be fulfilled.
33 And immediately after the tribulation of those days, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of heaven shall be shaken…
36 And, as I said before, after the tribulation of those days, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken, then shall appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven, and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn; and they shall see the Son of Man coming in the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory;
So, here is the crux of the whole matter… if we are about to see the abomination of desolation on the gentiles unfold, it follows that we are also about to see the sun darkened, the moon not giving her light, the stars falling form heaven and the powers of heaven shaken, right?
And most significantly, we are about to see “the sign of the Son of Man in heaven, and… the Son of Man coming in the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory” because these events are to unfold “immediately after the tribulation of those days”, abomination of desolation that is!
Now, there are many scriptural passages that could be cited in order to back up or reinforce the point of today’s post but I’m not going to do that because current events pared with the citations give are more than adequate… and the stark reality of this post just might awaken some readers… let the spirit be your guide…

In a previous blog, “The Great Reset”, we quoted what John tells us about the first beast and the 42 months, in today’s post we shall start with the same verses, from Rev 13 we read:
4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?
5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.
6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.
7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.
8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
9 If any man have an ear, let him hear.
10 He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.
Again we return to the subject of the 42 months and the tribulation or difficulties God’s people are expected to endure. The above seven verses give us the summery… John tells us above, “it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them”. The “him” here is the “whore of all the earth” that Nephi identifies for us as being among the gentiles. John tells us that this particular beast “must be killed with the sword” but in the mean time “the saints” will have to patiently endure in faith.
Now, as I’ve stated before, I actually believe that we are in the 42 months and what a strange place the world as a whole and America has become. Now a days if you hold Christian beliefs, believe in the constitution, the first amendment, the second amendment, national sovereignty, control of borders, law and order, a baby’s right to be born or express conservative or traditional views, you might just be considered an enemy of the state.
And so we ask the question, what are we to do? How do we handle this very difficult and trying situation? Well, John understood the difficulty we would face during the 42 months and advises us… “Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.” And John also says above “And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them”… given… as when the Lord allowed the Devil to test and prove Job.
This is not a time when political solutions are going to work, however, there are those among us to whom God has given authority to lead us in these perilous times, we need look no further than the last general conference of the church to find words that reflect John’s direction to exercise faith and patience in our present circumstances. For example, consider President Henry B. Eyring’s talk from April conference, he said in part:
“My dear brothers and sisters, we have been blessed today to hear inspired servants of God give counsel and encouragement. Each of us, wherever we are, knows that we live in increasingly perilous times. My prayer is that I might help you stand steady in the storms we face, with a peaceful heart.
The place to begin is to remember that we are each a beloved child of God and that He has inspired servants. Those servants of God have foreseen the times in which we live. The Apostle Paul wrote to Timothy, “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.”
Anyone with eyes to see the signs of the times and ears to hear the words of prophets knows that is true. The perils of greatest danger come to us from the forces of wickedness. Those forces are increasing. And so it will become more difficult, not easier, to honor the covenants we must make and keep to live the gospel of Jesus Christ.
For those of us who are concerned for ourselves and for those we love, there is hope in the promise God has made of a place of safety in the storms ahead…
When the storms in life come, you can be steady because you are standing on the rock of your faith in Jesus Christ. That faith will lead you to daily repentance and consistent covenant keeping. Then you will always remember Him. And through the storms of hatred and wickedness, you will feel steady and hopeful.
More than that, you will find yourself reaching out to lift others to safety on the rock with you. Faith in Jesus Christ always leads to greater hope and to feelings of charity toward others, which is the true love of Christ.
I bear you my solemn witness that the Lord Jesus Christ has given you the invitation “Come unto me.” He invites you, out of love for you and for those you love, to come to Him for peace in this life and eternal life in the world to come. He knows perfectly the storms you will face in your test as part of the plan of happiness.
I plead with you to accept the Savior’s invitation. Like a meek and loving child, accept His help. Make and keep the covenants He offers in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They will strengthen you. The Savior knows the storms and the places of safety on way home to Him and to our Heavenly Father. He knows the way. He is the Way. I so testify in the sacred name of Jesus Christ, amen.”
We need to follow the Prophet and other leaders because It doesn’t appear the we are going to be able to rely on a return to sanity this time, rather, we need to turn to the Lord, for it will be he who will deliver us! In section 133 we get a snapshot of what the saints will be praying for and how the Lord will respond leading up to his first appearance, we read:
38 And the servants of God shall go forth, saying with a loud voice: Fear God and give glory to him, for the hour of his judgment is come;
39 And worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters—
40 Calling upon the name of the Lord day and night, saying: O that thou wouldst rend the heavens, that thou wouldst come down, that the mountains might flow down at thy presence.
41 And it shall be answered upon their heads; for the presence of the Lord shall be as the melting fire that burneth, and as the fire which causeth the waters to boil.
42 O Lord, thou shalt come down to make thy name known to thine adversaries, and all nations shall tremble at thy presence—
43 When thou doest terrible things, things they look not for;
44 Yea, when thou comest down, and the mountains flow down at thy presence, thou shalt meet him who rejoiceth and worketh righteousness, who remembereth thee in thy ways.
45 For since the beginning of the world have not men heard nor perceived by the ear, neither hath any eye seen, O God, besides thee, how great things thou hast prepared for him that waiteth for thee.
Apparently the world will be surprised when the Lord does “terrible things, things they look not for… and the mountains flow down at” his “presence”, when he comes to those “that waiteth for” him. And the saints will be witnesses to previously un-preceived or seen “great things… prepared” for the elect.
I bare witness that the scriptures are true and that the word of prophecy is being fulfilled all around us… we just need to have eyes to see and a believing heart! My God bless us all, until next time…

In the past I’ve maintained a pretty strict focus on the scriptures and what they tell us about the last days… and have done so without much commentary on current events. But now that Part 1 of the book has been posted for download, I feel more inclined to expound about current events at a deeper level, and how these events fit the prophetic narrative.
When I use the term “deep state”, I’m just using a modern day term that for those who the Book of Mormon would have called the gadianton robbers. However, they are also part of the great and abominable church, the whore of all the earth or the wicked gentiles… those who will soon get what’s coming to them, right?
Now, the fact that the scriptures are my main focus doesn’t mean that I don’t spend considerable time keeping up with the events of the day… and so I’m going to share what Dr. Steve Turley posted recently regarding the “scorched earth” approach that the deep state is using against their political opponents. This video features what Victor Davis Hanson had to say about this situation…
I’m not implying that I agree with everything that Dr.Turley ever says or wrights but in this case I believe he is giving us a very accurate picture of what’s going on and what the deep state is up to.
If you’ve watched Dr. Turley before or are a fan of his, you know that he believes that the rising wave of awakened individuals will eventually tip the scales of power and set things right, that would be nice to see and many of us would love for that to happen but the scriptures don’t support such a conclusion… Dr. Turley should read the Book of Mormon and spend more time with prophecy in general, LOL…
If you’ve read Millennial Dawn, you’ve read this quote from Ezra Taft Benson before, he said of the wicked gentiles:
“But on the other hand, if the gentiles on this land reject the word of God and conspire to overthrow liberty and the Constitution, then their doom is fixed, and they “. . . shall be cut off from among my people who are of the covenant”. (1 Nephi 14:6; 3 Nephi 21:11, 14, 21; D&C 84:114-115, 117)
The events covered in the above video make it perfectly clear that the deep state has pulled out all the stops in their effort to “overthrow liberty and the constitution”… and so we must conclude that “their doom is fixed, and they “. . . shall be cut off from among my people who are of the covenant” and if you’ve read chapter eight of Millennial Dawn, you know I think we are already in the countdown to their demise! In chapter 10 of 2 Nephi, the Lord explains:
11 And this land shall be a land of liberty unto the Gentiles, and there shall be no kings upon the land, who shall raise up unto the Gentiles.
12 And I will fortify this land against all other nations.
13 And he that fighteth against Zion shall perish, saith God.
14 For he that raiseth up a king against me shall perish, for I, the Lord, the king of heaven, will be their king, and I will be a light unto them forever, that hear my words.
15 Wherefore, for this cause, that my covenants may be fulfilled which I have made unto the children of men, that I will do unto them while they are in the flesh, I must needs destroy the secret works of darkness, and of murders, and of abominations.
The above passage makes it apparent that the Lord has long anticipated the gentiles would attempt to replace liberty and the constitution with a king, monarch or dictator of some sort. In verse 13 he says, “he that fighteth against Zion shall perish” and then he says, “for I, the Lord, the king of heaven, will be their king, and I will be a light unto them forever, that hear my words”… Now that is what we call a sequence… the wicked shall parish and “the Lord, the king of heaven, will be” our ”king”, right?
This being the sequence, it surely aught to be apparent to us that the extreme measures of the deep state, the gadianton robbers or the whore of all the earth, etc is a huge sign or indicator of just how close the coming of the Bridegroom is. May we continue to prayerfully prepare our hearts and minds… and may we follow the living Prophet… Russell M. Nelson!

The road to the Lord’s second coming is full of tribulations, however, these tribulations can be divided according to the timeline and into two general categories. And they are:
Those that unfold leading up to the Lord’s first appearance and the coming of the New Jerusalem.
Those that unfold during the seven years following the Lord’s first appearance (above) and leading up to his appearance to the Jews.
We are presently experiencing #1 above… the tribulations we are experiencing today are mostly due to the workings of “the whore of all the earth” or the wicked gentiles that Nephi was shown in vision. In 1 Nephi chapter 14 we read:
11 And it came to pass that I looked and beheld the whore of all the earth, and she sat upon many waters; and she had dominion over all the earth, among all nations, kindreds, tongues, and people.
12 And it came to pass that I beheld the church of the Lamb of God, and its numbers were few, because of the wickedness and abominations of the whore who sat upon many waters; nevertheless, I beheld that the church of the Lamb, who were the saints of God, were also upon all the face of the earth; and their dominions upon the face of the earth were small, because of the wickedness of the great whore whom I saw.
13 And it came to pass that I beheld that the great mother of abominations did gather together multitudes upon the face of all the earth, among all the nations of the Gentiles, to fight against the Lamb of God.
This “whore” is presently at war with anyone who has faith in Jesus Christ, believes in the constitution, the bill of rights, personal property, the rule of law or values liberty and freedom. She has combined the power of corrupt governments with high powered corporations, social media and the cutting edge of technology. Only in the modern age could “the whore of all the earth” exorcize such wide spread power and control.
However, being in the 42 months means that this particular power has almost run out of time because we are also speaking of the first beast of Rev 13, John say of it:
10 He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.
The demise of this beast will very, very shortly be followed by tribulations that are not necessarily man made. Earthquake, the sun being darkened, the moon turning to blood and stars falling from heaven, “the voice of thunderings, and the voice of lightnings, and the voice of tempests, and the voice of the waves of the sea heaving themselves beyond their bounds” shall attend the coming of the Bridegroom along with the heavenly New Jerusalem. And from this point forward or once the elect have safely been gathered to the New Jerusalem, the world shall enter the second phase of tribulations or what is commonly referred to as the seven years of tribulation.
With the coming of the Bridegroom comes the opening of the seventh seal and a sequence of events that will lead to the Lord coming to the Jews as their long awaited Messiah. From Rev 8 we read:
1 And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour.
2 And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets.
3 And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne.
4 And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel’s hand.
5 And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake.
6 And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound.
As we follow the activities of these seven angels we are seeing one view of the seven years of tribulation which culminates in chapter 11 where we see how the second half of the seven years or the last 42 months is to unfold. We read:
1 And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein.
2 But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.
3 And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.
4 These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.
5 And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed.
6 These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.
7 And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.
8 And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.
9 And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves.
10 And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth.
11 And after three days and an half the Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them.
12 And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them.
13 And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven.
14 The second woe is past; and, behold, the third woe cometh quickly.
15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.
In the first half of the seven years Gog will gather his army of 200 million and during the second half or 42 month (or 1260 days) he will lay siege against Jerusalem and that’s what the above passage is all about. We note in verse 14 that the final woe is poured out on Gog’s army (seventh angel) although we are not given the particulars, however, Ezekiel indicates that it’s fire and brimstone.
And finally we reach verse 15 where John declares, “The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.” So those kingdoms who had resisted Lord’s initial appearance as the Bridegroom will now be brought into compliance for “the kingdoms of this world” will have “become the kingdoms of our Lord” and with that, tribulation will come to an end.
All of this will get us 1/3 of the way through the half hour of silence or the first 21 years of the millennium and paves the way for the gospel going to the heathen nations and the final preparations before the earth is to receive it’s paradisiacal glory but that’s a story for another day.

If your paying attention at all, you may have noticed that governments around the world and in particular, those governments where freedom and democratic principles have been the tradition are at war with the people and in some cases the people are rising up and fighting back.
We particularly see this in the nations that belong to or are associated “the whore of all the earth” or the nations that Nephi designates as the gentiles, from 1 Ne 14 we read:
This anti God, anti Christian, anti freedom, anti Constitution, anti free speech, anti 2nd amendment, anti border and anti baby collocation used to promote the new world order… now it’s The Great Reset and their power has grown considerably, their power is peaking here in the 42 months and then they shall die, John said of them:
(Rev 13:4-10)
These folks who are behind all of this wickedness, worship the dragon and the beast… thank goodness their time is limited and will soon come to an end! From 2 Ne. 6 we read:
15 And they that believe not in him shall be destroyed, both by fire, and by tempest, and by earthquakes, and by bloodsheds, and by pestilence, and by famine. And they shall know that the Lord is God, the Holy One of Israel.
16 For shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered?
17 But thus saith the Lord: Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered; for the Mighty God shall deliver his covenant people. For thus saith the Lord: I will contend with them that contendeth with thee—
18 And I will feed them that oppress thee, with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood as with sweet wine; and all flesh shall know that I the Lord am thy Savior and thy Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.
In verse 17 we read, “But thus saith the Lord: Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered; for the Mighty God shall deliver his covenant people.” So just in case your thinking that all of our resistance against these wicked folks is going to succeed… that’s not the way the Lord sees it, he says, “the Mighty God shall deliver his covenant people”. He knows their wickedness, he knows their plans and the Lord’s second coming is going to turn there wickedness on their own heads in a sweeping and dramatic fashion! As it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be in our day, except this time it is characterized by fire, not water.

In most cases my posts will include scriptures and other evidences about the timing and sequence of the second coming but today is going to be different, today I’m just going to give you my thoughts and perspective on these events, I’m going to let you know what I’m thinking based on my research and studies but without a lot of documentation.
If you’ve read the first 13 chapters of Millennial Dawn you already know that I believe we are in the 42 months with gives us just less than two years before the demise of the great whore that Nephi and John speak of. And one of the conclusions I’ve come to is that the second beast of Rev 13 (Russia and company) will burn the whore (America / Europe, the gentiles, first beast) at the end of the 42 months.
This burning of the whore will also mark the end of the day of the gentiles and will just barely precede the coming of the Lord in his roll as the Bridegroom to his elect… and his coming will set the stage for the return of the ten tribes and the millennial gathering of Israel, which will precede the Lord’s appearance to the Jews as their Messiah according to President Nelson.
Seeing all of this unfolding fills my mind and heart with wonder and awe and it also causes me to wonder how any member of the church could loose faith and fall away when there are so many signs of the times being manifest. Unfortunately, I hear reports of folks who were once solid in the faith wandering away.
We live in remarkable times, I think that President Nelson’s comments and hints are more than sufficient to prove that fact to anyone who is paying attention. May we find it in our hearts to study his words and to follow them to the best of our ability. God bless!

You have no doubt either heard or read the phrase “and the last shall be first, and the first shall be last” but do we understand that this is a reference to the order of the Lord’s ministering both in the meridian of time and in the fullness of times…
In 1 Nephi 13 we read:
42 And the time cometh that he shall manifest himself unto all nations, both unto the Jews and also unto the Gentiles; and after he has manifested himself unto the Jews and also unto the Gentiles, then he shall manifest himself unto the Gentiles and also unto the Jews, and the last shall be first, and the first shall be last.
On the surface this looks to be a pretty straight forward but when we dig deeper into the word we find that there is much more to this sequence… it wasn’t long after the Lord had finished his ministering among the Jews that he appeared to the Nepites here on the American continent and taught them about his other sheep, from 3 Nephi 15 we read:
1 And verily, verily, I say unto you that I have other sheep, which are not of this land, neither of the land of Jerusalem, neither in any parts of that land round about whither I have been to minister.
2 For they of whom I speak are they who have not as yet heard my voice; neither have I at any time manifested myself unto them.
3 But I have received a commandment of the Father that I shall go unto them, and that they shall hear my voice, and shall be numbered among my sheep, that there may be one fold and one shepherd; therefore I go to show myself unto them.
The Lord also made it clear that this round of ministering was to include the ten tribes, from 3 Nephi 17 we read:
4 But now I go unto the Father, and also to show myself unto the lost tribes of Israel, for they are not lost unto the Father, for he knoweth whither he hath taken them.
It should be apparent to all that this in person ministry to the Nephites, who were Israelite, those designated as his “other sheep” and to the “the lost tribes of Israel” is not just a side bar to the above sequence… it occupies the central position!
And it was the reason for the delay or passage of time between the Lord’s crusifiction and the vision he gave to Peter, telling him that it was time to take the gospel to the gentiles. It was essential that the ministering among the house of Israel come before the gentiles, otherwise the gentiles wouldn’t have been last, right?
All that we have discussed so far points us to the Lord’s ministering among the house of Israel here in the fullness of times because we know that it will unfold in exactly the reverse order that it did in the meridian of time. We know form verse 42 above that “the last shall be first, and the first shall be last” but what will that look like? How will it come about? The scriptures teach that it will be millennial and in conjunction with the Lord’s first appearance.
The fiery and calamitous end of the day of the gentiles will usher in the coming of the Bridegroom and with him, the New Jerusalem, “And the Lord, even the Savior, shall stand in the midst of his people, and shall reign over all flesh. And they who are in the north countries shall come in remembrance before the Lord; and their prophets shall hear his voice, and shall no longer stay themselves; and they shall smite the rocks, and the ice shall flow down at their presence.” (D&C 133:25-26)
As Israel hears “his voice” and gathers to the New Jerusalem they will not only find peace and protection form the warring nations but they will quite literally be coming unto Christ who will dwell there… and they too shall experience the love, peace, power and perfections of Christ in a very literal way, just as their forefathers had.
